As any classic car enthusiast will tell you, older vehicles can’t stand up to as much abuse as their contemporary counterparts. This is particularly true in the case of outdoor storage. While it’s generally recommended that all cars be stored in a garage of some sort, modern-day automobiles are better equipped to withstand Mother Nature. 

Conversely, classic vehicles should never be stored outdoors for extended periods. Since many of these autos weren’t designed with outdoor storage in mind, it behooves owners to look into the following options.

As the name suggests, storage condos are essentially supersized storage units — many of which are large enough to house boats, automobiles, and other large vehicles. If you lack the garage space to store any European classic cars at home, renting a storage condo may be your best option. As an added bonus, the on-site security found at many storage facilities ensures that no one but you has access to your vehicle.  

Professional Vehicle Storage

If you don’t mind something a little pricier, look into a professional vehicle storage facility. These facilities pride themselves on maintaining optimal conditions for vehicle storage and providing regular maintenance for cars that require it. The monthly fees for these facilities can be rather steep, but if you want to keep your vehicles in prime condition, you may find the convenience worth the cost. 

Clear Out Garage Space

If you’re unable to store your classic car in your regular garage on account of another vehicle, it may be time to reevaluate your priorities. If the vehicle currently occupying the garage was manufactured within the last few decades, odds are it will be more amenable to outdoor storage than an antique auto. Assuming the first two options fall outside of your price range, storing your classic vehicle in the garage and moving your regular car to the driveway is the way to go.
